Why is Bono pleading with us to give from the invisible and insatiable well of U.S. federal spending? That requires no personal sacrifice at all and amounts to a marxist money grab.
What Bono should be pleading for is political freedom for the oppressed peoples of the world. More money is not going to solve their problems, just like it doesn't solve ours.
